Importing vehicle rules

I will soon be relocating to Calgary Alberta on what I understand will be a 3 year work visa. I have seen in other threads that if I am working under a 3 year or less work visa, I do not need to import my vehicles. However, I'm concerned with the rules of importing vehicles and whether or not I'll still be obligated to follow the guidelines. One of my vehicles is a 2015 Jeep Wrangler and it has a small lift. The RIV states any modifications to the OEM specifications may not be imported and specifically that trucks with a lift kit can not be imported. Since I'll be working under a temporary work visa, will I be able to get my Jeep into Canada even if it has the lift package? I have seen Jeeps for sale in Canada that are lifted so I'm a little confused by the requirement.

With this type of work visa, will my vehicle remain with my US plates, US driver license, and insurance, or will all of this need to get converted to the Canadian equivalent. I appreciate any feedback and advise I can get.

As of my experience, you will have your vehicles imported at the border, however, CBSA will not require you to pay the duty/tax/fees since you are a temporary resident.
You will have to change your license plates, driver license and insurance to Alberta.

Steve, did you ever figure out about your jeep? I am in the same situation with my jeep (plus a few more modifications) and am starting to get a little worried about the drive through the border.

Cheers,

Michael
