Hi everyone! I have recently landed (yahoo!!), and now I'm looking to tie up some loose ends, specifically with my car.

So I still have my NJ plates and NJ drivers license, and covered under my NJ insurance. I was able to find Canadian insurance that will cover me during the importation process, so I can activate that at any time. My question is more about the order of events and what is the best way to navigate this whole process. My car title has my NJ address and license information, so I'm anxious to exchange my NJ license before importing my car, since I seem to recall that I will have to surrender my NJ license during that process, and therefore my new license information will not match with what's on the title. Am I to import my car while I still have my NJ license, or will that even affect the process?

Is there a specific order of events in which I'm supposed to undergo this process? How long does the process usually take? For those of you that have imported your vehicle, have you found it to be worthwhile? I would be interested to hear other people's experience with the importation process so that I know what to expect in the following weeks.

Thanks in advance!
