Needing your inputs, please share your guidance, experience or advice.
Next week, I’m moving to Canada from US. I have an open work permit for Canada.
I’m planning to move along with my personal car and planning to import my car to Canada on permanent basis. As I don’t intend to return to US in near future.
My questions are:
1) Can I import my car permanently at the first instance at the Canadian Border even if am on work permit? My work permit is till Jan 2025 as passport expiring in Jan 2025.
2) Can I do export of my US car at US customs and request for permanent import at Canada border?
3) Incase of temporary import given if Canada border custom doesn’t allow permanent import based on work permit. Can I easily get my car permanently imported once PR is processed?
