So, I have run into a bit of a problem. I am from the USA and that is still where my residency is. Last year, I drove my car to Canada while I was here as a visitor for 5 months. I last minute had to book a flight out of Canada and wasn't able to return until just now (July 2017). My car has been sitting at my father-in-law's house in his garage since I left but now that I am back, my tags are expired. I am wanting to import my car to Canada, but I am not sure how or if that will even work with my tags being expired. There is no way I could drive it back to North Carolina to get in inspected and tagged there just so I can drive it back to Alberta. Any ideas or advice? I've considered signing the car over to my Father-in-law and having him go through the process but I am honestly at a loss.
