Hello All,

My wife and I are planning to apply for express entry program. We both have completed IELTS with decent score and will have our ECA's completed in a week's time. I have a few questions at this time before submitting our application. Request your patience and help with the below queries :

Express Entry application: Does the NOC code in application need to match with the experience letter you will receive from your organization? Do I need to sign of for job pool as well before submitting? Is there anything else also that is required before submission?

Experience Letter : Can I apply for this letter now itself or do I need to wait for ITA? Is this just a regular experience letter or is there any particular format? Would I also require salary slips or Tax forms for this?

Police Verification: Can I apply for this letter now itself or need to wait for ECA? I'm an Indian national working in US for last few years. How much time will it take in the US to obtain PCC for both India & US?

Medical Examination : Can I take a medical examination appointment now as well? What happens if I receive an ETA but I'm not able to get an appointment in the next 60 days?

I'm based in US and my wife is currently in India. Any help in the above matters is highly appreciated.

Thanks

Express Entry application: Yes the job duties needs to be consistent with the lead statement of the NOC code you select along with the dates of employment, salary and hours (or mentions full time). Make sure it's not a copy paste.
In my case, salary was not on my letter, so added my W4 forms, promotion letters etc. and explained in the LOE. No need to sign up for the job pool. My job bank profile actually was expired when I got my ITA.

Experience Letter : Get it as soon as possible unless you are waiting to max out the points for the 3+ years thing. No need to wait for ITA if you are sure that you can get the ITA with your current work xp.

Police Verification: For the country you are not currently living in, you can get them now. As for the PCC for US, get it after the ITA.
For me, India PCC from the SF consulate took ~30 days which I got a year before the ITA and US PCC takes < 5 days, this one I got it done week before the ITA as I was sure about getting the invite.

Medical Examination : Better to do this after the ITA as the COPR validity is based on your medicals date. I was in the same situation with the appointment, I managed to get one from another state. If you live in CA, there are many in the state, got mine done at LA, they seem to have a lot of open slots.

Thanks a lot for the detailed explanation!! This really helps.

I was told that US PCC can take some time as it involves taking finger prints and sending it over via post. Is that correct? Are there any third parties which help with the process lke in India?

Also, are salary slips and tax forms (W2) required as part of submitting the experience letter?

Thanks

US PCC literally takes less than a week. Fingerprints can be taken at your local PD and then sent over to FBI. You don't need a third party to get it done, it's the matter of going to the FBI website, paying online, getting the fingerprints taken and sending them, not sure why you would want a third party for this.
I attached my salary slips and the tax form just in case. But from the GCMS notes I got recently, it didn't really matter. They were satisfied with the employer's letter along with the promotion letter.

Is the employer's letter a regular experience letter? Does it need to be addressed to someone in particular?

Is there a similar requirement for Spouse's work experience as well? Does that letter need to contain all the details too?

I'm asking this as Spouse's non Canada experience does not fetch any additional points. @indpnv @MarvelousMitz
