Can you paste the direct link here instead of instructions?

For students starting their course online in fall 2020 , cic has posted a newsletter that you all must check out. Go on cic latest updates and the newsletter is posted there. Finally some good news!!!!!
Don’t see anything. Are you sure?

This isnt new information though...
It isn’t. But at least a sigh of relief for students starting their course online. We have something to look forward too. It was posted on the IRCC website but announcement wasn’t made. So just thought to share.

Oh ok got you. Was wondering if I was missing something

It would be helpful if CIC News (which is not official in case anyone thought otherwise) would link to the actual update from IRCC.

Here it is:
After you apply for your study permit, any time spent studying online from outside Canada now counts toward the length of a PGWP. (Before, only the time spent studying online after you were approved for a study permit counted.)

For this time to count, you must
  • complete at least 50% of your program in Canada
  • apply for a study permit by September 15, 2020, and
  • start, or have started, your program in spring, summer or fall 2020
You won’t have time deducted from the length of your PGWP for studies you complete outside Canada until December 31, 2020.

And to let you know IRCC is conducting a webinar on the 6th and 7th August 2020 at 2pm to inform the students regarding the updates with the study permit. For students starting their program this fall 2020.

like they said to people before, only those approved study permit before March 18th can travel, but later they changed it to essential travel only. Sorry but I have low trust. They have no real solution. So much ambiguity!!!

Almost in the end:

PGWP eligibility for programs starting in 2020
You’re still eligible for a PGWP if

  • you have a study permit or have applied or been approved for one
  • you can’t travel to Canada at this time due to travel restrictions
If you’re in this situation, you may
  • begin your classes while outside Canada, and
  • complete up to 50% of your program while outside Canada, if you can’t travel to Canada sooner

They haven’t clearly mentioned if AIP is required to start online classes. And some colleges are requiring a student to have atleast AIP to start online classes. The newsletter doesn’t clear this fine line, atleast from what I understood.
Could you share your view on this or what the newsletter exactly entails.
