Hello everyone!

I realize that this is a very niche issue and that it will not concern most of you. However, I am posting it so that one day when someone does a search for these keywords, they'll find it.

I am sponsoring my Norwegian partner, and the application is being processed through London. When we were gathering the forms for my partner's application, the Norwegian police told us that we do not need to contact the Danish police for a criminal record check, even though she has spent a year there. The lady at the counter claimed that the Scandinavian countries (Denmark, Norway and Sweden) have a centralized criminal record system.

While this may be true, CIC still requires a criminal record check from each country in which the applicant has lived for more than 6 months. Unfortunately, we learned this lesson the hard way, having our application stuck in London for almost 6 months, while they were waiting for a Danish CRC.

Best of luck, everyone!
