ok so me and my wife are trying to do the forms and stuff, and in the financial declaration is where we have stopped lol didnt get far , shes on odsp witch is disability, and we dont know what to do with that idk if she qualifies and if she doesnt what can we do , we have 2 kids idk if that really matters im also from the states, we live with her parents right now, so idk what to do with the financial part im concerned that if i put the ammount she gets or w.e they will deny us because she doesnt make "enough"

pls can someone help me with this idk what to do

Be truthful and write down the amount your wife earns. With this attach a letter explaining that you live with her parents right now .Explain how you are going to financially survive and pay your bills in Canada. What they are concerned is that you may collect welfare .You could also ask her parents to write a letter saying that you are living with them and they are going to help you settle and financially going to support you and your wife until you get a job. I'm sure more people will add to this . Your wife don't have to earn money to sponsor you just can be on welfare or bankrupt. Disability is completely different .

There is no finical requirement to sponsor your spouse. ODSP is not welfare and as long as she hasn't been on that the last year she filed taxes you will be fine. It's only welfare that they look at

Not true, there have been some cases of people on ODSP where the apps are rejected because the visa officer is not confident they will be able to support themselves just on ODSP income.

I would ensure to include in the app things like:
- a detailed financial plan showing exactly how you intend to support yourselves. Include expected monthly budget/expenses, and show you will have enough money without going into debt
- get family to write statutory declarations that they will support you financially for as long as needed
- include information on the applicant's education/work history, and what kind of employment/salary they expect to get after becoming PR

Its straight forward on the matter that you don't have to go above and beyond to prove you relationship is genuine . If your wife had been working it would have been pretty straight forward. Yes its frustrating , i have had to send the same form twice which has set me back 4 months.
