Import Tax on a brand new car

Totaled my POS car this weekend so I am looking to get a new car, say I were to get approved for PR and import via U.S to Canada, how much of an import tax am I looking at...... Any insights would be great.

My understanding is you should have owned the vehicle for 12+ months or you only get 10,000CAD exemption. CBSA will charge 5% at the border and province will charge 8%.

Contact CBSA, RIV and Sales tax office at the local province to confirm on your scenario.
