Implied Status- Health Insurance

Hello,
Please recommend any private health insurance solution for someone who finished their studies and is on implied status- getting PGWP might at least 4-6 months now. In Ontario, we are not eligible for OHIP unless you start working full time for at least 6 months. Can't start working full time/part-time until receive the PGWP because graduated on implied SP status. My college provided medical insurance- Morcare ended when I finished my studies. The college doesn't know any solution and no one I asked don't have a clue because the status is so confusing- visitor/implied student and worse, no proof to prove it. I am supper worried about medical bills as it is very expensive and can push me into deep debts.

Google there are websites that compare the various policies. There are only a few Canadian companies that offer emergency medical insurance. Stick with a Canadian company. Any routine care will not be covered.

I guess the Visitors to Canada insurance offered by few companies can work. I am contacting some of them for clarification.

There is only 2 type of health insurance available when you don’t qualify for provincial healthcare: supervisa and emergency medical trabel medical insurance. I guess there is a 3rd one but it is a full coverage medical plan that covers routine care as well. It is much more expensive so very rarely bought unless an employer is providing it.

It's hard to get clarification and not easy to find an option. No one knows how long the current situation is gonna affect approving and issuing permits. I know many are under implied status know without any medical coverage/health insurance. This is a dire situation for temporary residents and we all or many are willing to pay if there is only the expensive option because it's better than falling into debt for getting treatment for medical emergency.

I don't thinks it's possible to take emergency travel insurance now- I have been in Canada almost two years and insurance companies back home won't issue any policy without any valid permit.

You should be applying to a Canadian Insurance company. Covid is excluded in most policies and so is routine care and preexisting conditions that have not been stable for a certain amount of time,

Try with multiple brokers. Aman Sohal 647.544.2443 they are good www.coveragematters.ca. I bought from them and service is good.

I was an international student in Canada, Done with my studies, and applied for PGWP. I do not know why, but many people do not know this. You are not covered anywhere, SO go buy visitor insurance. I bought one from Manulife.
