Implied status for Spouse open work permit

Question from my friend:

My friend has a skilled job (Cook) work permit, and her husband works with an open permit based on her work permit.

She's changing her employer and applying for WP before her current WP expires - so she understands she can't be working until she gets her new work permit with the new employer.

What about her husband who's currently working with the open permit? He will be included for another open permit when she applies for her new WP. Will he have an implied status and continue to work?

Thank you.

it's not an "implied status" if she's applying under a new employer. same goes with her hubby. i am under sowp too. they can both work til their wp expires. unless they also file wp extension with her current employer.. they will be in implied status then.

You can't switch employers under "implied status", you need the new work permit before you can start work with the new employer.
