My spouse and I are both in Canada. We're from eTA country.
I am a full time student having a valid student permit for 1.5 year.
My spouse would like to apply for OWP. however he's got a criminal record, we'll enclose rehabilitation application along with his OWP application. We just figured out he have a criminal record during recent paperwork review. We never knew until now.
1. Does implied status apply for applying a new OWP? for now he doesn't have any work permit.
2. does implied status apply for applying a new study permit?
with currenty ETA he can only stay until September. Once we submit all the applications I'd assume it's gonna take a long time to hear a decision due to a criminal record. Just wanna find out if implied status applies for him so he can legally stay in Canada until decision is made.
He'd like to apply for Visitor record to be able to stay after September, but He can't really apply that. because of his record. hence maybe TRP is something that he might have to apply if necessary......
