Hi,
I have a friend from Philippines who was given Voluntary departure (Removal Order). I'm not even sure if this is the right term. She was given this because she failed to show return ticket at the border and she has stayed in Canada for about 5 months.
So the procedure she went through was this:
1. Her passport was seized
2. She was asked to return to the Canadian border to show a ticket
2. On the day of her departure, she was escorted by the officer until before boarding the plane
Her application for visa got denied twice already. The third one was approved, however, she was issued with this order during her last visit.
She came here last September and went home this March.
My question is, she needs to return this coming June for her board exam. What is the implication of this incident. Are there any cases where the person who voluntarily left Canada not permitted to enter again?
I really appreciate your feedback.
Thank you.
