Is there any impact on parents immigration process if the sponsor is on a non-resident status.

I recently recieved an opportunity to work outside Canada. I have successfully completed my residency period and applied for Citizenship a month ago. Last year I applied for my parents sponsorship (have not heard anything yet from CIC) and worried that if I go on non-resident status, will that impact my parents immigration process?

I have heard that CIC check for most recent tax return for the sponsor, which in my case (next yr 2013) could be "0" if I go non-resident

Appreciate any comments.

Thx

To sponsor your parents you must be living in Canada. This is a requirement to qualify as a sponsor.

If you stop living in Canada at any point during the process, this will place your parents' application in jeopardy and quite possibly lead to a refusal of the application.
