Hi all. As a new immigrant I wasn’t fully aware about a lot of taxation regulations. I recently found out that I should’ve reported income generated from gifts and through selling some personal artwork online that I did as hobby over the last 5 years. Total combined amount I didn’t report is around $2K.
It was an honest mistake as I wasn’t fully aware of the regulations. I’m looking at CRA website there’s an option of voluntarily reporting missed income for previous years. Question is - my citizenship application is in process and what sort of impact will this have on my application? Will this impact background check in anyway?
I understand it’s a small amount and it was an honest mistake. At this point what can I do for this? Any help would be greatly welcomed!
Thank you.
