No, it is not safe. Yes, this may impact the application and result in the application being refused. As a PR, you must be living in Canada while the application is being processed to qualify as a sponsor. You should try to limit your trip outside of Canada to three weeks. You must continue to primarily live in Canada until the application is approved.
