Hi everyone,

I am writing this post on behalf of my mother. So just to give you some background, 5 years ago my parents and hence by extension I (I was a minor then) were granted an immigrant visa in the skilled worker category for Canada. At that point, we all arrived in Canada and became permanent residents; however, given that my mother was supporting both my father and I financially, she had to go back and work in Pakistan. Flash forward 5 years later, both my father and I are Canadian citizens, whereas my mother has not fulfilled her residency obligation and her PR card has expired. She is now thinking of renouncing her PR so she can travel to Canada on a temporary visa until she is ready to permanently move there.

She sent her application to renounce her PR in January to the Canadian High Commission in Islamabad, but it has been 4 months and she still has not heard yet. There is no portal and it is hard to get information so I just want to know how to better navigate this.

Secondly, I also want to know what type of visitor visa should I apply for my mother. Should I apply for a supervisa or a regular 5-10 year visitor visa?

Any guidance would be highly appreciated!!
