Hi! My bf is 21 years old from Brazil and is currently studying there. I'd like him to immigrate here in Canada but it's difficult. I dont work as I am a full time student so I can't sponsor him (and also cant marry because of the pandemic either). We want him to immigrate asap. It has been 3 years we are together and yes we met last year for 3 months :D . We're 21 and 19 and I feel this is impossible.

He's willing to abandon his studies if he has an opportunity to move to Canada before he finishes them. We dont have ideas anymore on how he could enter the country. He would continue in a university to study as a pr in Canada.

He doesnt speak French (i live in Quebec). He would have only high school degree. Have no international English language test (He speaks perfect English tho). He lost almost his job as a school secretary due to the pandemic so he barely has money. We both live with our parents. He has skills in computer technology but has no degree done in the field yet. And even if his degree was done, I'm still afraid about diploma recognition.

We feel that nothing can be done until 3 years at least because we cant marry and im still a student living with my parents. We looked on how he could find a job offer but it's not possible as he needs to be a pr before getting a job (from what I read)

Can someone give us ideas? We're kinda desperate ngl. This pandemic really affects us. Thank you :)

Immigration through an economic immigration stream like Express Entry really isn't going to be possible for him given his lack of post secondary education, savings, and work experience.

He really has two options:

1) Come to Canada on a study permit as an international student. This is an expensive option since he will need to pay international student fees and he will need to have savings of at least $25,000 to be approved to cover first year tuition and living expenses. The program he choses to take in Canada must be full time and must make sense in light of his previous education. If he is currently enrolled in university in Brazil, then he would want to continue university studies here. In addition to showing he has enough money to pay for his studies, he will also need to demonstrate strong ties to his home country.

2) Find a way to get married in person somewhere (likely you traveling to Brazil once things settle down) and then you sponsor him for PR as your spouse. There are no income requirements for sponsoring a spouse. You can sponsor him as a student.

You should assume a job offer and work permit will not be possible. Your two options are above.

Thank you! I can still sponsor him even without me not working having an income to sustain him? We spoke to an agency and they said the chances of success are extremely low like barely possible and not worth the shot :/

You would need to show that your family has the extra money to support you both and is willing to support you both financially. They’ll need to provide proof of their savings. You and your spouse can also provide proof of your savings. By the tome sponsorship happens you may be dome with your schooling.

Still not guaranteed but your parents agreeing to provide you both with financial help will help your situation.Finding a job with hopes a high school application mostly Leads to low paid work. If he could finish his degree in Brazil that is something to consider. Attending school in Canada will be much more expensive. You still need to get married or living together for a year.
