My wife recently got a PPR and then today we got the passport request. But the issued visa page on the passport seems to have an expiry for 3 months from now. I thought the validity was 1 year? My wife would like to give a few exams prior to coming, which are a little after the expiry. Is there any way to apply for an extension? Would you'll advise doing this? Or would it complicate things?

Would please appreciate any feedback. Thanks.

The visa expiry date is tied to the medicals. The medicals have a validity of one year, therefore the visa would expire at the same time.

Unfortunately, it's not possible to extend the visa. You could try asking your VO, but the answer is generally no. Your only option would be to land, and then go back to tie up loose ends, which is fairly common.

Three months isn't bad actually, a few people have gotten their visas with about 2 weeks to land.
