Hi guys! Just want to clarify something.

I know I have to include immigration photos with the app. It says in the western europe guide I only need to include 8. And this is all right?

It doesn't say anything about signing them or anything.

I only wonder as I've seen on another thread that they included 9 and had to sign and date them? Just making sure I don't encounter any delays! :)

Hi Gary_87,

We have the same question too, my girlfriend and I are sending our app off next week and just got her immigration photos done. As specified, we had 8 done, we got them done at Walmart - $72 with Tax. Walmart stamped the back of them with the script, just requiring a place to sign.

To be honest, I think we will just have them signed when we go and have the other form requiring a Notary signed too, no harm done if they don't need it anyway.

But if anyone can clarify, that would be great!

Thanks in advance.

When I filed my application, there was a country specific guide (or region specific - western Europe, Eastern Europe etc), and in that guide it told you exactly what neeeded to be done with your medical, police report, pictures and so forth.

I would double check there :)

When I filed my application I was required to write dates on the backs as well as my spouses name. I don't know if those are still the conditions for my area.

Regional instructions vary. As long as you follow the instructions in the Guide that apply to the VO you are applying to, you'll be ok :)

:o Wow that's a lot!

I think the stamp the store puts on the photos should already have the date it was taken. The photos are supposed to have been taken within the last 6 months, so this store stamp is only way to confirm date taken.

There is nothing i've seen in any guide on being required to sign the photos. We didn't, and there were no issues at all.

Did you get the right size? That seems a lot for tiny photos. Mine were a tenner at Jessops, no stamp, no signature.

We sent our Outland PR application the 8 photos I sent of myself I sent them
blank with not having them signed or dated?

Is that correct I left the back of the photo blank :(

Pr app is outland London

have I messed up?? it never said to date or sign the photos I checked 100 times

For a pr card photos need signing and dating

The UK guide states:
Supply eight 8 recent photos for each member of your family and yourself. Follow the instructions
in your guide (see Photos in section on completing the Application for Permanent Residence in
Canada
) and in Appendix B: Photo Specifications.

So if you go to the App for PR in Canada (inland) here: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/guides/5289ETOC.asp it states:
The photos must have been taken in the last 6 months and must adhere to the specifications listed in this guide.

The only way for them to know the photos are within 6 months of submitting the app, is if the store stamps the date taken on back of each photo. I wouldn't worry though... perhaps the VO won't care at all about this. Nowhere does it actually state you must stamp date on the back, which i assume they would do if it was really a strict requirement.

Yes, it seemed a lot to me too. We paid about half that when we need photos for medicals - but I will double, double check when I get home. Better to be safe than sorry.

I'm pretty sure mine didn't have a date on the back and it was no problem, so I don't think there is anything to worry about!

Thanks Alice

If you all look at the PR card application it shows that pics have to be dated

If you look at the PR " sponsor " application it doesn't show this date box saying to date the pics.
