Immigration got a letter...

Hi everyone, my wife just finished her interview in Dhaka Bangladesh.

They wanted to interview her because they received a letter from someone explaining that :


my wife is a fraud, her schooling is fraud, her dad paid someone to get the university transcript. She never finished her elementary school. She is a smuggler from India. She was married 2 time before but got Divorced due to her bad character.


Of course its not true what they said on the letter.

The interviewer said that they are going to check her transcripts from her school & if they are genuine then they will ask for her passport.

My question is, can our application be canceled due do the someone emailing the immigration and making false claims?

& how long will it take for them to check her transcripts and verify her school & university

Because CIC has received this letter, they will have to investigate and you should expect this investigation to take a number of months. They will need to look into her schooling history and also into her personal history (i.e. likely conduct another background check) to verify she has never been married.

Provided all of the claims are false - your application should be fine - it will just take longer to process.

We know who the person.
The amount of information they put in the letter is crazy.

She finished her medical last June.

Just thinking about it
She could of been here by now.

That sucks that someone would do that. Well if it’s all lies don’t worry, CIC will investigate and find out the truth. It will just take longer.
But I see you are still within the 12 months processing target so it’s still ok..

Worst part is it was one of my family members.

Really hope the investigation doesn’t take too long. All they have to do is call the school she went to.

It's not just a matter of contacting the school - IRCC will be obligated to look into all of the accusations - including the past marriages. This may take time unfortunately.
