Hi,
Are there cheap immigration consultant/s that I can go to represent me on my application. I have search thru internet and some are so expensive on asking for their retain fee. If you can refer some cheap or reasonable consultant please.

Thank you

I think you're better off doing it alone than going for a cheap consultant. Cheap may get you bad/wrong advice.

Cheap consultants are normally cheap for a reason, they're bad. Most of the good consultants will be expensive. If you really want to use one, make sure they are CIC authorized http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/representative/verify-rep.asp

You seem to have very good command of the English language. You really shouldn't need one. They will still require YOU to complete all the forms. They're not gonna do it for you.

We tried one that wasn't cheap, and 90% of what she told us wasn't true. We dropped her and opted for asking questions here instead :P

I recommend if your case is simple with no complicating factors I definitely advise you to do it on your own. I think having a representative is a big waste of money. All it takes is a few months of dedication , commit to doing your app maybe an hour or so a day until it is done. This forum will help you until you are ready to submit your app.

Hi, my husband want also to have representative but for me I can do much paper works, they're red flag we have ,and that we both aware of, like huge age gap, 24 years, religion, education , cultures, we didn't meet both parents or any relatives, civil wedding, no reception, no proposal, engagement, , but it's all about LOVE , we have enough photos, m
Chat logs, remittances, I can write our love story, explain each question being asked,
We met online 2013, then first visit 2014, we got married last January 2016.
Do you think still we need representative ?

Appreciate any advice

Thanks

My advise to anyone coming from my experience and a few other people, Never use an immigration lawyer.. Do it yourself. Using an immigration lawyer makes CIC reject you easily because they believe you cannot backup your information hence involving a lawyer. If don't have to , please avoid it.

Agreed with what many others are saying. Unless you're in a difficult situation that requires you to be extra careful when filling out your application, you shouldn't need one.

We have our consultant but cost us $6,500.00 thru the process.. and took us 6 months before our application sent.. a little disappoint. If your case is not complicated, i suggest do it on your own and simply follow and answers straight forward the questionnaire. Good Luck!

Wow, those are indeed some red flags. Who is being sponsored and from what country?

My husband is Canadian , who will sponsor me , I'm from Philippines.
Then main reason why didn't meet any close friends and family, I got refused visit visa then we got married in Hong Kong which we can't afford to bring any relative to attend.

Thank you for all helpful advice!
