Immigration cheching up on you ?

So im currently waiting for stage 2...its been 5 months into the application. And i received an email of immigration asking for proof of residence. My question is does immigration have people in you home countries that check if your actually there and not in other countiers ? Or is this just a checkup

Your question is confusing. You need to provide proof of residence and let CIC know where you are living truthfully. Yes - they will certainly sometimes verify what you've said. Be 100% truthful and there won't be a problem.

If i leave my country for some time and don’t inform immigration is that bad ? Or should i remain put until this process is done ?
