Hello,

I filed my application for permanent residence in December of 2004, i am the principal applicant , my wife and 2 kids are included. Sometime in 1st qrt of 2005, i received a letter from CIC acknowledging receipt of my application and processing fee. Nothing since..Then last year, i was able to secure a job offer and a positive LMO, i am to work under a semi skilled category ( this i beleive does not warrant that an open work permit will be granted to my spouse, thus, it will take years before my family can join me in canada - if ever),in saskatchewan. I have yet to receive my Working Visa. While this is going on, I wrote CIC informing them of my intent to pursue this job offer (and pending permanent application) thru the dual intent policy. Then last december, after 4 years of lull, i again received a letter from CIC asking me if I still want to continue with my permnent application application as this has gone thru many years now and if i decide to pursue, then i should wait for a letter from them again , this time requesting me to update information. I wrote them back saying i am still very much interested in pursuing that permanent residence application.

My questions are these:
1. If my working visa comes up and consequently we got approved with our permanent residency application, how should i go abt this?
2. My wife is a registered Nurse, (falls under the 38 new categories)having just passed the board. shes does not have any actual work experience yet. Can she apply (this time she being the principal applicant) ? will this not further complicate our case?
3. If she applies, would this be any faster?
4. If you are in my shoe, what do you think will you do?

Thanks a lot. any feedback, opinions are very much welcomed.

Havent you considered that being a nurse your wife qualifies as an Immigrant in the SKS PNP,She will be processed in less then a year and She and all her family including you become PR upon landing with her.I woulde continue my PR application and file for PNP with SKS or FSW 38 in Sidney N.S
