Hi, I'm trying to extend the stay for my dad who has a visitor visa but getting the "Expiry date does not correspond..." error. Here are the details:
Original entry: May 12, 2021
Valid date in passport stamp: November 11, 2021 (this is when the 6 month status expires)
He is still in the 90 day window to apply for an extension. I filled the the online questionnaire like below (only the relevant ones shown):
What would you like to do in canada? - Visit
How long are you planning to stay in Canada? - Temporary, more than 6 months
Current country of residence?- Canada
Immigration status in Canada? - Visitor
When does your status expire? - November 11, 2021 (this is when the 6 month status expires)
And for the Imm5708 form:
Question 3 - I'm applying for one or more of the following - Extend my status as a visitor (checked this box)
Question 7 - Current country of residence (from and to section) - I tried different things for this but none of them worked-
1. visitor, from: May 12, 2021 to November 11, 2021
2. Visitor, from and to being the visa validity in the passport
3. Requires restoration
4. Foreign national
When I try to upload, I keep getting the "Expiry date does not correspond " error no matter what I do.
Need help with this. Any suggestions would be great. Thanks.
