Here is the situation for Outland spousal sponsorship:
I am the husband, I am Canadian citizen and working on sponsoring my wife (PA) living abroad (North Africa). She has no kids. I am divorced and have my own kids living in Canada from previous marriage.

Please and thank you in advance:

1. IMM5533 (Checklist) – page1: information about previous examination. I do not understand well the question on what’s all about, and not sure what I should put, yes or no?. About myself, I immigrated to Canada some time ago as a permanent resident and got my citizenship after that. Some years later I did sponsor my ex-wife to come to Canada.

2. As of Sep-16-1018, I went online to check the list of forms and didn’t see anything after July-2018, you guys you’re not aware of anything new since then, are you? I’m sure they wouldn’t miss updating their website, but just in case I missed something. We’re almost ready to DHL the paperwork.

1. When you apply for PR....you could include your dependents as accompanying or non-accompanying dependents in your application......included accompanying or non-accompanying dependents are examined like medical, admissibility, etc...... When the PR application is approved, PR immigrant visa will be issued for the PA and only the accompanying dependents......the non non-accompanying dependents are not issued PR immigrant visa......only declared non-accompanying dependents could be sponsored later as family members.

The Question ask.......if the spouse the sponsor is currently applying to sponsor as a family member was earlier declared and examined as a non-accompanying dependent in the sponsor's earlier application for Permanent Residency

In your case, you should answer "NO".....in the checklist IMM5533...as your current spouse had not been earlier declared as a non-accompanying dependent.

I have applied for permanent residence. My spouse or partner and children are not coming with me. Do they need to get a medical exam?

Who can’t become a sponsor
You can’t be a sponsor if you:
  • were sponsored by a spouse or partner and you became a permanent resident less than five years ago
  • sponsored a previous spouse or partner and three years have not passed since this person became a permanent resident

2. None that am aware of.....you may check again on the site....Sponsoring your spouse

Hi, My husband wasn't married when he got his permanent residence.
He's now applying for spouse visa for me, so he'll fill No for the first question(information about the previous examination), right?

answer "NO"
Good day, Just wanted to confirm My fiancee who got PR earlier this year March we plan on getting married in October. Even though we been together for 7 years we never lived together as common law (same-sex couple) and we are now are going to be married. Is there any problem with this? as I was not declared as anything even though we been together in a relationship for so long.

Hi Wakki
My husband and I became permanent residents of Canada at the same time ten years ago. He was the principal applicant, but he lost his PR status 4 years ago. Now I would like to sponsor him to come to Canada, Yes or No to answer this question?
