imm5257e indicate how long you plan to stay: visa dates

Hi,
I (with indian passport residing in USA on work visa) am planning to visit Canada soon. I wanted to know how does CIC decide the Visa dates based on the dates given by me in imm5257e "indicate how long you plan to stay"?

e.g. Today being April 28, 2018, if I upload hotel reservation of July 2nd week (and fill dates of July 2nd week for "indicate how long you plan to stay" in imm5257e), but apply my application today, will I get Canada Visa entry dates in July 2nd week or can I get as soon as I submit my passport (after my application is approved)?

If approved, the TRV counterfoil would be issued from/the start date would be the date your TRV is approved. Your hotel bookings/intended visit dates don't matter
