IMM1295E Form validation problem

Dear all,
I am an international student in Canada.My spouse is currently in her final(VI) of her pharm D,she will complete her course by Aug 2016.I am trying to apply an open work permit for her from India.I am having a problem in validating IMM 1295 form.Form is not being validated unless I put some date in EMPLOYMENT section(pg 3 of 6) of the form.Since she is still student I am confused.Is it okay if I fill as following

current activity: Student
from:2010 to 2016
company/employer/:Her college name

If I leave these as blank and press validate following error is showing up
Employment
The following field must contain a value:
1.From:YYYYY
Pls help.

If you are student and have no employment record.

But the pdf forces you to enter something.


Please enter your record of education, stating that you are a student.

Thanks for your reply.I am just wondering if she should under go medical exam for applying an open work permit.

I remember that it is decided by

1. Whether she comes from a designated country. If not, then no medical exam is required.

2. The length of the stay. If it is less than 6 months, usually no medical exam is required, unless she is majoring in something related to plants or medicines.
