I am an expat Living in the UAE under my father’s sponsorship, in my UAE Residency Permit it states that my profession is student (Not allowed to work) and it also states that i am sponsored by my father, i am not studying in the UAE nor have i have ever studied in the UAE, we have moved recently to UAE. In the IMM1294 form there is a section called status in country of residence which have multiple options 1- Permanent Resident, 2- Visitor, 3- Worker, 4-Student, 5-Other, 6- Protected Person, 7- Refugee claimant.
I have applied to a study permit that was rejected, in the VO’s notes it mentioned that my immigration status in the UAE is unclear.
In my 1st application i chose the option foreign national ( as i am not a student nor enrolled in any educational in the UAE and i am not a citizen nor permanent resident) and i have not included copy of my residency permit in the application.
My question is how should i rectify this?
What would the correct answer for my status in country of residence?
And if i changed the status from “Foreign National” ( 1st application) to “Student” or “other” ( in 2nd application) and included a copy my residency permit would this be considered misrepresentation?
But even if my residency is considered a student(although im not studying in the UAE) isn’t it also foreign national?
Also is it mandatory to add my residency permit to my application, because in Dubai they stopped stamping the residency permit in your passport it’s just an electronic copy and not a physical part of my passport?
Because the form said to only include passport and passport’s visa pages But my residency is electronic and not in a visa page.
And does failure to include the residency permit lead to misrepresentation?
Honestly it is extremely confusing.
