Hello, hoping someone can help. We are confused about box 3 on the IMM008 form that asks how many family members the form will cover. Here's why:
My wife and two children are Canadian citizens by birth. My wife is sponsoring me so we can all live in Canada permanently as opposed to the frequent traveling that we have been doing. However, here's the dilemma; on the IMM008 form it specifically asks for all dependent family members, so I listed my entire family. However, on my wife's IMM5481 questions 4,5 and 6 have to do with how many people are involved in the sponsorship. Technically it is only my wife sponsoring me because our children are Canadians by birth (and we have all the documentation and passports on both sides for them). But if I include all of us on my form and then she includes herself again on her form, we have her listed twice and more people listed than we need.

Do I have to list my wife and children if they are already citizens on IMM008? Or is this only for dependents that are not currently Canadian citizens?

Anyone who has some idea of what we are supposed to do here would be much appreciated thanks.

On form IMM008, for question no 3, the correct answer is 1 in your situation. This form is an immigration form, for the principal applicant. Your children being Canadian citizens, they don't need to be included.

"3. How many family members, including you, are in this application (see instruction guide)? - Your children are not included in your immigration application, because they are not being sponsored by your wife like you are.

You need to include your children in form IMM5406 Additional Family Declaration only:

Quote
"SECTION B

Write the personal details for your children. It is very important that you list all of your children (even if they are already permanent residents or citizens of Canada). This includes:

married children,
adopted children,
children of your spouse(step-children) or common-law partner,
any of your children who have been adopted by others,
any of your children who are in the custody of an ex-spouse, former common-law partner or other guardian.
You must answer all questions. If any sections do not apply to you, answer “N/A”."

Do I pay a processing fee for my daughter if shes not comming?

No, you don't pay for a non-accompanying dependent.
