Hi there,
My work permit is expiring soon and I am in the process of submitting my online application to extend it. I have just a couple clarification questions on imm 5710e if anyone has any experience:
1) I have 8 items of previous work experience, so too many to fit on one form. I read "If you need more space, print out an additional page of the form, complete this section and submit it with your application" in Guide 5553, but I thought rather than add 3 extra copies of that page it would be better to just make my own table with exactly the same information and put it in the client information section. Can anyone confirm if that's acceptable?
2) Question 2C under Background information asks "Have you previously applied to enter or remain in Canada" - I applied at the border for my initial work permit, but have never applied for an entry visa or eta- is there a distinction between applying to work and applying to enter? Is it safer to put "yes" and mention my initial work permit application?
3) I am in a common law union with a Canadian citizen (we have lived together for over a year), but my partner is in no way sponsoring or involved in my work permit application. I have completed the Statutory Declaration of Common Law Union mentioned in the guide, but im wondering if I should also be including evidence (i.e. leases) with my application?
Thanks very much in advance
