Hi

Just getting my documents ready for outland application. The document checklist in point 14 says : Photocopy of your marriage certificate if you have a co-signer and he or she is your spouse.

My wife is sponsoring me in the family class - I am not a co-signer though? Does that mean they don't want a copy of our marriage certificate? surely not?

Correct. You are not a 'co-signer'. For the purposes of this item #14, neither a photo-copy nor original is required. This is for Family class sponsorship of other members - a category currently suspended but supposed to be back in the future. You will find however that you will likely require an original of the marriage certificate, further down on the checklist.

am sorry am lost here Truesmile....i am about to send my application..and i have the copy of the marrage certf..
but no where on the check list says orginal...so they need our marrage certf right?

Hi,you only need to include a photocopy of your marriage certificate,if you are applying Outland however you need to have it certified I think!-All the best

No, the copy of marriage certificate does NOT need to be certified. Just a regular photocopy is fine.
