Hello everyone. I am writing as the Principal applicant of what will be an outland application. My Common law partner ( My sponsor ) Is a Canadian Citizen and we are both living within Canada at the moment.

My first question should be straight forward, I should be ticking the 'I am living in Canada and applying under the family class box', correct?

And secondly I have all my forms together as per the checklist, but then I stumbled upon the IMM 5481. I am confused as I don't know if this changed recently. But I saw that people were filling this out even if the application only contained themselves (the Primary Applicant) and their Sponsor. But the help guide states 'only if you are sponsoring your dependent child who has no dependent children of their own'

So my longwinded question is, should my Sponsor be filling out this IMM 5481 if the only ones included in the application are myself and her?

Many thanks in advance, so looking forward to getting this sent off now!

Jason

my guess is no because there are no dependents.... it makes sense to follow the instructions in the guide.

there are three boxes to check from - one is living in canada, one is not in canada, and the other is living in canada, applying from outside... you have to select one of them - the one that suits your situation
