IMM 5481 Question 7 and details of family members?

hello,

I really appreciate you fine people out there taking the time to read our questions and answer them.

I am sponsoring my wife within Canada and have no dependent children or anyone else that I support financially except my wife. I have never SPONSORED Anyone before and never CO-SIGNED as well.

Hence, I put in question 7 on the IMM 5481 form (2) people. is that correct?


The rest of the form has details of family members from previous undertakings yet in effect or not in effect, since I never sponsored anyone or co-signed before I left the whole thing blank, is that correct?

Hello Noah.

You are correct. For #5a you put (1), #5b put (0) in each box, #6a&b put (0) and for #7 you then put (2) people.
When I did this form, I put "NOT APPLICABLE" everwhere I left blank to show that I had read the question. I was approved as a Sponsor on August 26, 2013.

I honestly think that CIC makes it harder for themselves with the way that they word all the questions. If it were straight forward, the call center would not get so many unnecessary phone calls. Here is a link to some video tutorials I used when I did my application.

Go though these, find the right video for you. It will make some things easier on you and answer some of your questions. Hope this helps you!
