Hi,

I am a Canadian citizen and I have sponsored my wife for permanent residency.

I currently have an attorney linked to our application but I would like to remove him and add myself as the representative.

Question # 1:
Can I do so in the SAME form by completing the following sections:

Section B: Appointment of representative - Part 5, 6, 7 and 8- I will complete this section with my information
Section C: Cancel the appointment of a representative - Part 9 - My current attorneys information.

Question # 2:
To Submit this form, I need to create an account there: https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/application/account.html

Once the account created, I need to LINK the account to our application by clicking on " Add (link) your application to your account" and searching for my application, in which case it currently says the following:

"We see that you have a representative tied to this application. Your representative has access to your application.

If you no longer want to use a representative and access the application yourself, you can cancel your representative by filling out the Use of a representative form [IMM5476] (PDF, 647.96 kb) and choose "cancelling the appointment of a representative."

So I will attach the completed IMM 5476 in this section and submit it in order to do so. Am I right?

Thank you

Regarding Q 1. You as the sponsor are not considered a representative so no need to fill out the section B unless you are hiring a new lawyer or consultant etc

Not sure about Q 2

what ever you wrote is correct, if there is no slot to attach the form then it can be also sent through webform (you need to have application number/UCI no. You and your wife need to sign the form as well. remember your wife is making you her representative so she need to sign and you are accepting her representation so as consent you need to sign.
