My situation is this. I entered Canada as a visitor, obtained a work visa, then obtained my PR (had to leave and re-enter to 'activate' PR and get my IMM 5292). I have since lost my IMM 5292 but am wanting to apply for citizenship so need to fill in IMM 5009.
On the form IMM 5009, Part A -
Question 20 - Immigration document Date of issue
Question 21 - Canadian Port of Entry - Place of issue .
These questions seem clear enough and I inserted the date and port of entry for receiving my PR (as this is the document I am wishing receive verification of status).... but the CIC instructions accompanying the document throw doubt into my mind, see below..ie should I be entering the date and time i entered as a visitor? (although I never received a document when entering as a visitor, so the question wouldn't make sense then)
CIC instructions -
Question 20
If you entered Canada for the first time as a permanent resident (landed immigrant) indicate the date of issue in the following format: YYYY-MM-DD (Year-Month-Day).
If you entered Canada for the first time as a temporary resident (worker, visitor, or student), indicate the date on which you entered Canada as a temporary resident.
Question 21
Indicate the name of the Canadian port of entry or the place of issue where you first entered Canada.

Next question I'm unsure of....
Part B - Question 8 - Did you enter Canada as a Visitor / student / worker/ permanent resident/ protected person
the CIC instructions state - Check the appropriate box to indicate your immigration status when you first entered Canada. I wonder if I should be checking the visitor box or the PR box. ( I entered Canada as a visitor. Obtained a work visa, then obtained my PR)
Thanks to any answers!
