Thanks very much! In Quebec it is essential to be bilingual so getting a survival job is not easy for everyone (even cashier jobs at grocery stores often require bilingualism) but luckily I am bilingual. Anyway, they did not hire me yet, but I will keep applying and will also go to another fair you recommended. Please also keep us updated on your activities and thanks for your encouragement.

I also met a lady from my country who has embarked on a 9-month course on insurance which will qualify her for a license, so this is also a long term option. But At the moment I have a target of getting a call center job to stabilize my cashflow ;D luckily the demand for labour in this sector is high here.

Thats good news, good luck with the remaining process - i hope you get hired soon. That was exactly what i expected...getting a survival job is not difficult, but getting a job in your own field requires time and patience...and a good plan as well. Hopefully by time you also manage to build contacts which will help you in exploring better job opportunities.

If you are not bi-lingual, why move to and live in Quebec, looking for a survival job? Seriously.

The post that you quoted clearly mentions that I am bilingual.
