I just noticed you are applying from Sweden. If that is the case, you probably have nothing to worry about! You might miss Sweden's higher standard of living though! ;D

China is different. They took my wife's passport three months ago and asked for her resume. I think they launch more thorough investigations over here. They take the passport extra early so you cannot apply for a visitor visa to get to Canada sooner!

Yes I have been thinking about that too. I wonder how they go about their investigation and what they check for....and how they do it. It cant be easy....there are so many country's that doesn't keep so many records, maybe....and how do they do it then? Well....that is if they check? I don't even know what they check for....so hard to figure out how and what they do during their investigations

It won't be an issue - the 9k. What CIC is interested in is to see that you and your husband have a plan. In your case, you get your income from Sweden, and it's guaranteed, so CIC won't even have to really worry ! they examine the sponsor to make sure that a sponsor doesn't end up on welfare and unable to support whoever he/she sponsored in the country - but in your case it's almost irrelevant, as you have your own, guaranteed, source of income - a very rare case. Your husband has a job, and has been paying back his debt. so 9k won't really matter... My partner was able to sponsor me while he was a full time student, with a student loan (more than 3 times your husband's debt!!), and no job offer in sight. But he had a plan - what type of job he could get, how my skills were transferable to Canada, etc. so he got approved without further questions.

It's hard to wait, but it's almost over. And I wouldn't really worry about it. The only thing that you might be disappointed about is... that I don't really believe that you will hear on Monday 5th August, because it's "Heritage Day" (in Alberta, equivalent of BC day for you), and it's a stat holiday, so Vegreville office is probably not working. Other than that - you'll probably be just fine!

My understanding is that you will receive a letter with your OWP and first stage approval, and I'm not sure that it will happen tomorrow... I think what the agent could see on your file is your "bring forward" date, which is when they will look into your file again after having received the documents. From there, it might take a few more days to take a decision, issue the letter and the OWP (if you had included one in the application) and send it to you. So - don't stalk the postman too much

I don't know how it works for inland, it would be best to ask in the inland thread. For outland, you have to include the medicals in the application, unless you have a "good reason" ( being pregnant and not able to have the X-ray for example). Not sure about inland.

Last time I talked to an agent, he told me it said in my file that we would get a decision on Stage 1 August 5. And we have been so nervous and waiting. And now I just talked to an agent to get to know the decision.....and this agent said there is nothing in our file about August 5. WHAT????????

Why did the agent just make up the August 5 decision? I did not misunderstand him.....coz I asked 3 times, just to make sure I didn't. But he was crystal clear. He clearly said that it said so in our file.....and that I could call back after that date, to get the news of the decision they made. And now they say its not stated anywhere in our file about anything regarding Aug 5. I don't get it. Why play these games with us? It's hard enough as it is :'(

Call back in a month....is what we got this time....as usual :'(

I'm very sorry Monica. I know it is hard and certainly not fair that someone should play such a game with your emotions. Just hang in there it WILL happen, of that there is no doubt, just have to do our best to be patient and optimistic while we are waiting. *hugs*

You mean on our online page? No it was never stated there. That page hasn't changed since they started with our app back in Oct 2012. The document request came in an ordinary mail.....and the only place you can see it, is in our file (when we call the agents to check our progress) they tell us every time:

The requested document arrived in Feb 2012. So that's why your case is delayed.

But other than that, it doesn't say or show anywhere online, that they requested a additional document.

We called and talked to an agent yesterday....again. This time she opened our file and came back and said:

Im going to get a second opinion.

What? Why? I asked. But she just said.....I will be back, I just going to get a second opinion.

My heart started raising, while we were waiting. What was wrong? Why a second opinion?

When she came back she said:

We will send them a message and ask why your file is taking so long. Get back to us in the end of the month, and see if they given an answer.

I said, what does this mean? Is it common with delays if its a negative decision.

Oh no, she said.....I can see no such problems. The delays is because of the requested documents.....but now its taken a little to long I think. That's why we are sending a message, she said.

I pray to God that she is right.
