I'm all set to apply.. Just 1 last confirmation.. Please letme know if you see any issues regarding my eligibility or the CEC Visa Office may raise any issues. I will be mailing the application form next week

NOC: 2172

Work Experience:

OCT - 7 - 2010 to June -24 - 2011

March-11 - 2013 to TILL DATE

My Experience Letter from my Employer is dated : OCT-13-2013 (this mentions the above timelines)
The letter from the Client is date: SEP-03-2013(this mentions the above timelines)

Regards
Thanks

Remember they count experience within last 3 years of application received date.

SO does it mean i dont qualify.

You need a total of 12 months of experience in the past 36 months (3 years).

OCT - 7 - 2010 to June -24 - 2011 => Here you have a bit more than 8 months.
March-11 - 2013 to TILL DATE => Here you have 32 months
----------------------------------------------------------------
Total experience till date => 40 months (approx).

If your reference letters are OK, then you are good to go in my opinion.

Double check all documents specially the Checklist.

If you have 1 yr full time with the same NOC category as specified under CEC then you should be fine. I applied after 13 mnts.

@from_mumbai: I didnt study in Canada. I was on closed WP.

So i am taking from all your inputs that i am good on the eligibility front.

Total experience till date => 40 months (approx). That's a total of 16, what makes you eligible.

Confused on where you found 32 months. LOL :o

NOV 2010 to JUN 2011 = apprx 7.5 months
MAR 2013 to NOV 2013 = apprx 8 months

All for a grand total of about 15 months worth of eligible employment. So, you are good to go. Only experience within the last 3 years will be counted...so all the way back to NOV of 2010.

Just to confirm. Did you work between JUL 2011 and MAR 2013?

I think he is meaning to calculate the duration in which he acquired this work experience... anyways, he is eligible as far as the work duration criteria is concerned...

As long as you were working (or salaried) full-time, i.e. at least 30 hours per week for all of the time you were working.

Note that the date on the employment reference letter is important. The OP didn't specify which date applied to which job. So I'll take the earlier one - September 3 - and also assume that the application package is received on November 16:

16 Nov 2010 to 24 Jun 2011 - 31+ weeks
11 Mar 2013 to 3 Sep 2013 - 25+ weeks

Total 56+ weeks.

If you were working (or salaried) full-time, i.e. at least 30 hours per week, for the entire time, and of course there were no other question marks around NOCs, study permits, etc, then this would satisfy the 12 month requirement.

Got ya! Well, based on timelines...and from what every one of us has commented...you are eligible. But I would submit soon, so you dont lose more time from your first employment.

Good luck!

Correct. The longer you wait, the more eligible time you lose as it falls out of the 3 years window.

Yah my bad, I calculated "March 11" as "March 2011" :P
