Folks,
IFHP - Effective November 5, 2014, the Government of Canada will implement temporary measures while appealing the July 4, 2014 Federal Court decision concerning the IFHP.

IFHP basically provides some initial health coverage while one is waiting for provincial health insurance. Often, couple/families who plan to land with pregnant female are in dilemma whether to land in a province like ON where the provincial insurance would kick start after 3 months or so. Please remember that the private insurers usually do not cover the routine requirement during pregnancy such as - routine medical checkups or routine medical consultation. However, private insurance + IFHP may be answer for that initial 3 months.

Would request people to do some research and let's discuss here for everyone's benefit.

You should know that IFHP is only for refugee claimants.
