If the guide asks for the same thing twice...

Hi everyone,

I'm a Canadian citizen by birth. I'm preparing to apply for family class sponsorship for my wife. Throughout the application process, I noticed that it asks for our wedding certificate two times, for two different forms.

Do I have to submit two copies, with two original notarized translations? Or can I just submit the one, and they will sift through the papers to find it when needed?

I appreciate any help :) Thanks

The whole application, supporting documents included, all go in one single package.
Therefore duplicates are not required except where explicitly stated, such as photographs for example.

Thank you very very much :) That makes things easier.

Is it okay to have things held together with paper clips (like photos) or some papers stapled together? Or is that a no-no?

Also, where it says the following:

Proof of studies
You must submit proof of studies for you and each family member 18 years of age or older. This
includes diplomas with transcripts listing subjects and proof of incomplete and current studies.

Do we have to submit the original of her diploma? Or just the translated and notarized photocopy?

It really doesn't matter how you build up your application as they reorder it when it gets to the CPC.
However, for common sense reasons, it's better not to use things like staples wherever possible due to the risk of injury to the people who will have to sort the forms. Paper clips are a much better idea.

Do not send original documents unless the Application or Region Specific Guides demand it.
You may not get them back if they were not asked for. Some regions of the world demand originals for fraud purposes, but they then know how to handle them.
