Hello guys, I have a question.

I am on a PGWP and will be applying for MPNP shortly. I have already tried applying for wifes TRV (visitor) before marriage and she was declined. We are in the process of applying for TRV again since now we are married and my financials are strong and it builds a better case in terms of support. I have a few questions.

1) Does applying for TRV repeatedly and gettign declined in any way hamper future applications for either TRV or immigration ? We can wait for the MPNP but its 4-5 months away and would like to take another shot with the TRV (visitor)

2) If the MPNP gets approved and she is in India, can she come to canada based on the MPNP letter or does she again have to apply via TRV with the MPNP letter ? can the high commission / has then high commission been known to refuse entry to canada for spouses even if the PNP application has been approved ? (As long as no criminal record)

Really jittery and would like some advise... especially if we should try for TRV rigth now or not.

Thanks

Hi,

TRV are really hard to get and she might get another refusal again specially that you are on a temporary status but you can definitely try again.
i suggest she applies for an open work permit based on your pgwp if you currently have a full time job, chances of approval are higher compared to TRV.
as for MPNP currently the processing time is longer then 5 months so don't get surprised when you apply,of course if you are nominated by a province to become a permanent residence chances are even higher that your wife will be approved an open work permit because you will be half way through your permanent residence journey.
please note that processing time for open work permit is usually longer compared to TRV but check the processing times of the visa office responsible of your wife's region for the exact info.

good luck.

Once we get the MPNP letter, wife has to apply for open WP sitting in India ? So if WP applications are taking lets say 2-3 months.. that will be time added on top of the 5 month wait for MPNP ?

Also, to apply for her WP now, must i have at least 6 months remaing on my WP ?

sorry to be a pest.. The way i see it TRV applications are processed in 9 working days and Work permit for 4 months in my native country...

is my best bet is to apply TRV and if rejected, go with Work permit application ? I have 7 months left on PGWP and if i apply in 2-3 weeks for her WP (if TRV is rejected) i will have about 2 months left on my WP when the officer seens my wifes application in hand...

i dont see how fruitful that would be.. who in their right mind would give my wife a WP with 2 months remaining.
