Hi Everyone,

I am applying the PRV and OWP( extend in staying in canada, marked C)
I got married with canadian and he will be my sponsor.
I have a visiting visa now.

I had sent both documents and I am really really worried my documents.
cause I noticed I might put a wrong documents...

I sent:
(for PRV)
1)In-Canada Application for Permanent Residence and Schedule 1 – Background/Declaration [IMM 5002 and IMM 5002 Schedule 1]
2)Spouse/Common-law Partner Questionnaire [IMM 5285]
3)Document Checklist [IMM 5443]
4)Application to Sponsor and Undertaking [IMM 1344A]
*we are living in Quebec.

(for extend of staying in canada marked C, initial work permit)
1)Application to Change Conditions, Extend My Stay, or Remain in Canada [IMM 1249]
2)Document Checklist [IMM 5556]

3)Receipt (IMM 5401)
I paid, $475( applicant for PRV), $75( for sponsor), $150(for work permit), $490(the new Right of Permanent Residence Fee)

I put all upper documents, plus documents that they ask in the checklist(police certificate, birth certificate, passport copies, married certificate, photos of married, bank statements, medical exam proof, 2 photos of me)

I think of the checklist of extend of staying in canada might be wrong...cause I am asking for working permit.
Is it wrong? or it might be fine for passing???

If It was wrong, what should I do?!
Please let me know the way to solve!
Thanks,

I am really really worried about my both documents!

You include an extension application (form IMM1249) in the same envelope with your inland PR application, and mark it "Initial Work Permit", if you want to benefit from "implied status" until they make a decision on first stage approval of your PR application, and to expedite the processing of your Open Work Permit once you've achieved AIP (Approval in Principle) after the first stage assessment. Sounds like you did the right thing. What specifically are you worried about? The only thing you didn't mention in your inquiry was whether or not you had valid temporary status in Canada at the time that CPC-Vegreville received your paperwork - which is required for "implied status". That's the only "glitch" I can come up with.

Hi RobsLuv,

Thank you very much your quick reply!

I am worried specifically of the checklist of OWP.
I put the checklist of extend of staying in canada as a visitor.
and I noticed,,, I might put the checklist of extend of staying in canada as Worker?

This is the first apply for PRV and Extend of staying canada.
so I am really really confused and so nervous...

I can stay until 14th Feb in 2009.

I am mixted up now...

Do I need to something else???
Thank you for your helps.

Hi Mamee

So, if I understand this, you're concerned about which checklist you should be using for the extension application because the one that is with the application itself says "Visitor Checklist" across the top - right?

I actually hadn't noticed it said "Visitor" at the top - but it is the only checklist provided with that extension application, so whether you are applying for an "initial" work permit (which is actually an Open Work Permit when you're applying via the inland PR process) or you're applying just to extend your visitor status - you'll still use the extension application checklist. It doesn't matter that it says "Visitor" on it, even though you're applying for an OWP.

And if you apply for an OWP, you don't need to extend your stay as a visitor, too. Applying for an OWP doesn't mean you have to go to work once you get the OWP . . . whether you have a visitor permit, a work permit or a study permit, they are all temporary status documents first (allowing you to stay in Canada), and secondly they authorize a specific activity (like work or study). I hope that makes sense. So don't worry - as long as you sent the extension/OWP application WITH your inland PR ap so that it would be received by CIC before your current status expires, you have "implied status" to stay in Canada until they complete the first stage of assessment of your PR application. When they do that, they will send you the OWP, which is your new temporary status document that allows you to stay in Canada, and you can choose to work or not.
