If I have a choice, should I do simplified or regular app?

I read the requirements for both simplified and regular and believe that I have a choice to do either option.

so which should I do? Which will be processed faster and less stressful on the applicant?

Another question that I have is the location to submit my app. Here is my background:

I was admitted to US on a visitor's visa (for 6 months) then my mom changed my status to F-1 and I have been living in the state on F1 visa since (8 years).

Someone told me that I can submit my app to Buffalo since I am on F-1 status. Another told me that I need to submit my app to my country of nationality (Taiwan) since I was only initially admitted for 6 months only.

I am confused, can anyone help?

Btw, is there something special about the Buffalo office? Why they seem to have slightly different rules than other offices.

If you are legal in the US, you can apply there. You can check on the CIC website if Taiwan is faster.

Thanks for answering my location to submit question.

This is what I read from cic.gc.ca related to the regular and simplified app submitted in the US:

Why is the simplified application process not being used by Buffalo and other U.S. offices?

Buffalo and its partner missions in the U.S. use a streamlined system where all files are created and pre-processed in Buffalo. It requires you to submit all relevant documents and information with your application. This makes processing faster for most clients who already live in Canada or the U.S. The SAP does not work well with this system.

Ok, so that means all apps submitted in the US have to be regular app? Arrgg, didn't see this coming at all, and I've spent so much time filling out the simplified app.

Yes, the US uses regular app so you have to get all your documents together now and send them along instead of being able to wait until they ask.
