so the closer we get to the decision date, the more paranoid i am becoming about being approved as my husband's sponsor.. so i have a few questions that hopefully will put my mind at ease!
am i understanding correctly that there is no appeal process for the sponsor? if the sponsor is denied, that's final? but that the applicant can continue with his application? if i'm understanding that properly, my questions are these:
who else is eligible to sponsor my husband? he doesn't have family in Canada except me and my family (his in-laws). is a member of my family able to sponsor him? and if so, do we then move to the ridiculously long processing time of approval of a different class of sponsor?
or
can he apply on compassionate grounds? he is coming from Scotland, so he's certainly not a refugee.. does compassionate grounds apply to a married couple just wanting to be together? what is the likelihood of being granted PR based on compassionate grounds if i am denied as his sponsor? is the processing time the same for that type of application as for family class sponsorship?
thanks in advance!
