Folks,

First of all, Merry Xmas and Happy New 2015 Year to all of us and our families!
Wishing all of us to get desired Canadian Citizenship in 2015!!!

Just a quick one - what happens if CIC looses citizenship application? Will they give applicant's money back?
What are the consequences of that incident for the applicant?
Thanks!

Dear HighFive,
Wish you the same back my friend.
I am not sure if I correctly get your concern here but I do believe that if the CIC collected your applicant fee, they should remember where they put it. If for any reason your application disappears in the middle of the mountain of their documents, it is their responsibility to keep you online base on your first submission date and reimburse you if you asked for that. However, there are chances that you are just unlucky and the mailman just delivered your application to the wrong place. In that case, CIC can't collect the fee since your application is not registered. Nevertheless, I think you should contact the call center for clarification.
Direct consequence of such loss is more waiting time for the applicant.
Hope you are not in that kind of situation.
Cheers,

Why'd they "lose" an application?

Beauhoe, thanks for your prompt reply. I asked this question on behalf of my friend, who is in processing queue since March 2011 and he thinks that they lost it but dont wanna tell him about it. The last update for him was "took test - 90% score, got RQ - few vacation trips , replied within a month" in June 2013 and since that time no updates from CIC, hundreds of calls and a few mails to Mississauga didn't help.
So, the bottom line is that they should give him money back in case they lost it. Thanks mate for your reply again, I will pass this info to my friend. :)

Hello HighFive,
Please let me assure you that what your friend is experiencing is typical from 2011 pool who got RQ and there is no possible way for application lost by CIC since he received AOR and took the citizenship test. At this stage, I do not recommend him a call for refund. He is almost there, a bit of patient and he will get through it. I found that some 2011 applicants are getting the second RQ. However, as soon as they send answer, they are receiving oath invitation within six (6) months.
I truly feel the pain but remember that good things happen to those who wait.
Cheers my friend,

Your friend should order their atip records to find out the status of their application. Also contact their MP.
