Hey, I wish to find out if I can use my IELTS academics for Canada immigration purposes under skilled type A?

No, you cannot. You will need to take IELTS General Training. From IRCC website:

• IELTS: International English Language Testing System
  • you must take the General Training option
  • we don’t accept the Academic option for Express Entry
