As you know, during the speaking test, you can make up a lie so easily.

You can even say you are really rich and own private helicopter or whatsoever.

I wonder if this is applicable to the writing. When you are asked to give 'specific examples' or something that has similar property to that, is it okay to make up a proof saying that

in 1990, research team of XXX figured out that AAAA can cause XXXX due to its BBBB.

will they score your writing regarding the FACT or the logic and flow of your essay only?

Anyone has idea?

It is a language test and not a knowledge test. You can make up the examples and stories but don’t go too far, like i went to mars for holidays . It should make sense.

4 or 5 years ago in my speaking test the topic was 'the most unforgettable memory of my life' or sort of that. I lied with "went to an isolated island with private helicopter with my girlfriend ' and so on and I got 7.5 in speaking. I was wondering the if this applies to writing section as well. Thank you for your reply though

It applies over here as well... just make sure you don’t go off topic, otherwise you’ll lose marks in task achievement.

I made up stories all the time, and I got 8 for my writing. Bill Gates, Steven Jobs, whatever. It is about language.
