Hi,
I am considering applying for Canadian PR under the FSW program. I took the IELTS test in Feb,2014 and I know it has a 2 year validity period (Feb,2016). I also read online on the CIC website that they require it to be valid for at least a year since the profile is valid for a year. My confusion is whether the IELTS results should be:

1. Valid at the time of submission, it does not matter if it expires after your application has been submitted.
2. Valid for the entire period of 1 year that your application is valid online/accepted for processing

If the answer is 2, then what is the usual time frame from time of submission to processing. Alternatively, can I take the IELTS again, for example 2 months prior to its expiry and then update my application with the new IELTS score ?

Thanks in advance for the responses.

The answer is 1.

Hi,

I have an LOA in hand already and my ielts will expire in july 2016. My LOA is for Sep 2016.
My question is, Can I file a visa a way well in advance as in the month of May 2016 instead of applying in june 2015 which will be 3 months prior to travel. so that I can avoid reappearing ielts. I am applying for a student visa.
any helpful and authentic suggestion or info on this will be much appreciated.

Looking forward replies,

Many thanks in advance,
