How long IELTS is valid? is it 2 years from the date of exam or the date of result? Please give me the answer.
Thanks for your advice. My test will expire on April 18, 2017. However, I am sitting at 452 and expecting ITA in next draw or the one in feb. If I will receive ITA in feb. drew, I am going to accept and submit all documents ASAP..Gooner said:As a person who had a very confusing experience with IELTS experience I can assure you this:
- To be eligible for Federal Skilled Worker (FSW) program, you need to have a valid IELTS exam at time of application (e-APR). The validity of the exam is anytime within two years from the day of the test.
Evidence: You fill an eligibility test before creating your Express Entry profile. This eligibility test measures your data against both FSW and CEC requirements. If you enter IELTS test date older than two years, you will receive an error saying IELTS is invalid.
HOWEVER;
- Let's say you have entered IELTS test date that was within the two years when you were filling the questionnaire. To make it clear:
Test Date : 29 January 2015
TRF Issued: 9 February 2015
Date when you created your profile 23 January 2017
You will notice a very annoying double standard there. Your Express Entry profile will NOT become invalid until you reach the 9th of February 2017. Express Entry system counts IELTS validity from the date TRF was issued !
My advice to you:
If you receive an ITA in the period between IELTS test date expiry and TRF expiry, DO NOT ACCEPT IT. (That is any time between 29th Jan 2017-9th Feb 2017 in the mentioned example). There is a conflict of eligibility between both systems. According to the ranking system (Express Entry) your CRS score is legit and perfectly fine, BUT according to Visa eligibility criteria (FSW or CEC) your IELTS exam is expired and you need to provide them with a new one with a date prior to the date of application.
Try creating a fake profile and see it yourself. Best of luck mate.
